Not wanting to sleep

The other night, both kiddos didn't want to sleep, so we let them hang out on our bed watching a little video to calm them down. They ended up being silly and things turned into a photo shoot. Sorry the photos are all jumbled. I still haven't figured everything out on here. Can you see Rachel's hair is starting to grow longer??!! She still wants me to put her hair up ("pretty hair" is what she calls it), then ends up pulling them out before she gets to the end of the hallway.

A Great Package

I ordered some diaper covers and a pillowcase dress from Bean & Beagle on Etsy. I am in LOVE!!! DH thinks they are cute and easy too and doesn't mind changing her (except the poopy ones). Why didn't I just CD full time from the start instead of using disposables? Of course, I didn't know of all the different options and styles back then. All I had to use was the Gerber cloths and vinyl pull up covers, which I tried, and did not like at all. As soon as I put it on, My child would immediately pee, and it was a pain to pull down the covers on a little baby.

I like having the wrap style. It makes it easier to put on and change, since Rachel is not really going on the potty. I made some very large contoured pocket inserts (kinda like mini diapers, I guess) to use with them. I think they work great. I am able to stuff microfiber towels inside so they don't touch her skin, and it offers more coverage from the PUL too. When changing, I take out the wet mini diaper, wipe out the inside of the cover, lay in a new mini and fasten on. I can reuse the cover several times before using a new one.

YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH to not having to wash a small load of diapers every day!! Hmm...I may have to make some more to try to only do a diaper load every other day. If that's the case, I will need to get a big wet bag and some smaller ones for travel and bedrooms. Cloth Diapering isn't so bad.

Yummy Yarns!

I'm A YARN HOARDER

I have been hoarding lots of YUMMY yarns for a while now. But I think it's about time I pulled them out and make a few things.

First pic is Hidden Lake from Selah.
Squishy soft BFL

Second pic is also from Selah in Claire, also BFL, I think. I'd have to pull it out to double check.

The third pic is of Ponies from Dashing Dach. I originally wanted to make Rachel a sweater for the Spring, but I never got around to knitting it.

The fourth pic is Inca from Conny of Happy Cheeks Diapers. I love the Colors, Bright and GN.

Custom NB Shorties

A customer contacted me for 2 pairs of NB shorties. I forgot how tiny they are compared to DD's humongo night time woolies.

The pair on the left is peruvian yarn from itty bitty knitties and the right pair is BFL Retro colorway from Happy Cheeks Diapers.

I really need to remember my username and password to get on here. I ALWAYS have such a difficult time loggin on here to blog.
We had some major T storms today. It knocked out all power at around 9am and didn't come back on until about 3:30pm. 6 hours with no tv, movies, radio, stove, or...EEEKKK!!! internet and computer!!! I had been up since 4am, so it gave me a chance to cat nap with Rachel. Logan was VERY WELL BEHAVED too. Normally, he'll be constantly asking me things or to help him. But today, he hung out playing all on his own. and even gave me a kiss and pulled the blanket up to cover me. Such a sweetie!
Oh, yeah, Logan's all done preschool for the summer, so yesterday, we took our jet ski (semi-ours) out onto the Lake. I helped Sean unload it, since it was the first time, then drove arounnd the lake to the other side to a small beachy area. I thought it would take a while to get there, but it really wasn't too bad. It'll be quicker coming from home. We met up with Sean there and he gave each of the kiddos a ride. He said Rach LOVED it and all the splashing water. Logan kept telling Daddy it's too fast and to slow down. But, I think he still enjoyed it. After that, Sean took the jet ski to explore the rest of the lake while the kids and I hung out at the little beach. We had fun splashing in the water. Man, Rachel is a wild one! I wish I had the camera. Next time, I'll make sure I have it, now that I know where it is. I hope it doesn't get very crowded there once the public school lets out.

Un-forgetting the blog

Ok, so I kinda forgot about blogging. I was getting bogged down trying to keep up with 'work', taking care of my kids, housework, and most importantly....playing and having fun with my kids. Since the weather has turned warmer, I have been trying to take them outside as much as possible, which means, I can't sit in front of the computer or knit or do any work. Hopefully, I will be able to start blogging and doing more work to help pay for our drive/trip to visit our parents next month. Gas is NOT cheap anymore! At the rate it's going, by christmas time, It might be cheaper for the 4 of us to fly to our parents and rent a car than to drive out.

We took them to see Thomas the Train not long ago. I think they liked it. There were lots of activities and things for the kids to do. We also rode on a train that Thomas was pulling.
